The issue I have is that Canada likes to try to tell other countries what to do, as if Canada has some sort of higher moral authority.  To many other countries, this may appear annoying.  It makes our Liberal politicians look good to their naive domestic audience.

That was one expensive tweet by Chrystia Freeland.

HOWEVER, IMHO, if Canada were serious about hum rights, it would not be selling military hardware to such a repressive regime.    It is like our government is trying to have it both ways.

The Saudis have new Prince who is trying to appear tough and patriotic in order to bolster his image.

If the Saudis did not have all that oil, you can bet that the attitude towards them would be much, much different.

Now the Saudis are hitting back with a bizzare propaganda campaign

According to the Saudis:

- Jordan Peterson is a political prisoner,

-75% of detainees in Canada die before standing trial,  and

- Canada is one of the world's worst countries for violence against women...

The claim that Mr. Peterson is a political prisoner is interesting. All the man does is refuse to use gender pronouns and half of Toronto demands he be removed from his academic post.

Which provide a pretty good indication of just how leftist and insane the political discourse has  become in this country.
